Babar, bowlers lead Pakistan to 85-run victory over Sri Lanka

Hosts take 1-0 lead in five-ODI series

Babar Azam was once again back to his best and bowlers produce a spectacular show as Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 83 runs in the first ODI in Dubai on Friday to take 1-0 lead in five-match series.

After being asked to bat first, hosts put 292 runs on the board, courtesy Babar’s sixth ODI ton and Shoaib Malik’s brisk 81 off 61 balls.

Revenge the agenda as Pakistan take on Sri Lanka


Babar finished the innings with the top score of 103 off 131 with the help of five fours.

In reply, pacers Rumman Raees and Hasan Ali claimed three wickets each as Sri Lanka only managed to score 209 for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

Lahiru Thirimanne finished the innings with the top score of 53 off 74 balls.
