BAHAWALPUR: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-587 luckily avoided an aerial mishap on the evening of April 18, while on its Lahore-Bahawalpur- Karachi route, as it safely landed at the Bahawalpur airport.

Around 30 passengers missed their connected foreign flights from Karachi while some passengers were accommodated by the PIA authorities through the public service transport.

According to reports a bird hit the plane in the air while it was on its way from Lahore to Bahawalpur.

PIA Bahawalpur’s station manager Mansoor Lodhi said 46 passengers were on board.

He added 30 of them had connected flights to Doha and Dammam which they missed, since the aircraft required repairs at the Bahawalpur Airport which delayed the flight.

He said some passengers demanded that they wanted the PIA to accommodate them on public transport services to Karachi which was addressed accordingly, while adding that the repair work on the plane took almost 8 hours.
