QUETTA: Protest rallies were taken out in the areas of Dera Murad Jamali, Sibi and Jhal Magsi on Wednesday, against suicide bombings and resultant deaths at Pir Syed Rakhyal Shah’s shrine in Fatehpur.

Scores of people from the Umrani tribe and others took to the main Quetta to Sukkur highway, marching with placards and banners inscribed with slogans against terrorism and in some instances against the government’s institutions.

The protestors were being led by former minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) provincial president Mohammad Sadiq Umrani and Sardarzada Babu Ghulam Rasool Umrani.
Sadiq during his address to the protestors said, “The recent tragic bombing at Fatehpur shrine is an example of the government’s helplessness, which is condemnable. The statement that was issued by Balochistan’s home minister, also did nothing but act as salt to the wounds of the victims and their families.”

Similar protests were also held in Sibi town by the followers of Sufi Cheezal Shah against the bombing.
