Addressing a press conference along with renowned industrialist Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi after the inauguration of Avari express boutique in Multan, he said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be a game-changer for Pakistan which will spur development and generate employment.
MCCI lambasts hike in electricity tariff
Asking fellow investors to choose Pakistan due to its potential, Avari announced establishment of top-notch hotels in Multan, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Islamabad.
Rejecting reservations regarding increasing Chinese investments in Pakistan, Avari dispelled the notion of China turning into another ‘East India Company’ or challenging Pakistan’s sovereignty.
He said that the Gwadar Port will help in boosting international trade with China and Central Asian states. He said that China has given soft loan of $500 million to Habib Bank to invest in CPEC-related projects. “Investors should come forward to raise the graph of Pakistan’s economy,” Avari said.
MCCI expects new FBR chief to achieve tax targets
Jalaluddin Roomi, renowned industrialist and ex-president of MCCI hoped that trade and economic activities would increase with the establishment of hotels of international repute in Multan, adding that a special economic zone will also be developed in Multan under CPEC’s purview.
