CDA enforces fire safety provisions

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has enforced Building Code of Pakistan Fire Safety Provisions – 2016 within its jurisdiction.

CDA issued a notification on Tuesday declaring that the code has come into force immediately. The code explains rules for fire prevention, safety precautions for people and fire protection of buildings and structures.

It is mandatory for all government and semi-government departments and authorities across the country adopt these fire safety provisions. The CDA chairman has directed through this notification that all new and existing buildings within the jurisdiction of the authority will comply with Building Code of Pakistan Fire Safety Provisions – 2016.

Fire safety provisions shall come into force forthwith and all concerned should implement and comply with these provisions, the notification said.
