Three-day anti-polio drive begins in Balochistan today
The campaign will take place in 177 UCs of ten districts of the province

A three-day anti polio campaign will begin in 177 Union Councils of the ten districts of Balochistan on Monday, said Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) Balochistan Coordinator Syed Faisal Ahmed.
These districts include Barkhan, Jafarabad, Kila Saifullah, Loralai, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Zhob, Sherani, Kholu and Jhal Magsi.
According to Ahmed, more than 648,441 children will be administered polio vaccine during the campaign for which adequate security arrangements have been made with the deployment of Balochistan Levies force, police and Frontier Corps personnel.
Around 2,031 teams will be in the field with 1,723 mobile teams, 187 fixed sites and 121 transit points.
He said that the steps taken by the Balochistan government were satisfactory. However, the role of parents, civil society and religious scholars was also very crucial to successfully carry out the campaign in the province. He said that they also received support from the representatives of the municipal committee.
He also asked the media to play its role for the success of the polio campaign.
