Pakistan says New Delhi ‘trying to alter Kashmir demography’
He was speaking at a seminar on Kashmir Issue: Role of Pakistani Academia and Way Forward, organised by department of Governance and Public Policy of National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad on Thursday.
NUML Rector Maj Gen(Retd) Ziauddin Najam, DG Brig (Retd) Muhammad Ibrahim, deans, heads of departments faculty and students were present on the occasion.
“Dispute of Kashmir is alive due to Azad Jammu and Kashmir,” the president of the liberated territory said.
He noted that more research papers and thesis have been produced in international journals on Kashmir dispute than by the local academia. He stressed that it was the responsibility of the academia to educate the youth and provide them a narrative to counter Indian propaganda regarding the dispute.
He said that people of Kashmir have the right to self-determination and world should differentiate between an unarmed freedom activist and a militant.

Kashmir issue must be resolved according to the will of the Kashmiris who had voted in favour of Pakistan.
To a question he said that Pakistan weakened the Kashmir dispute by involving itself in bilateral dialogue with India and not pursuing the same case in international forums. He said that Pakistan must revisit its Kashmir policy.
