Need for teacher-student dialogue highlighted

Dire need for dialogue between the faculty members and students at universities, said PHEC chairperson

Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) chairperson Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin has said there was a dire need for dialogue between the faculty members and students at universities to improve the quality as well as standards of teaching practices.

He expressed these views while addressing the participants at the inaugural ceremony of a two-day training workshop on “Teaching Excellence” held at the PHEC Staff Development Academy on Thursday.

Why Punjab is failing to impart quality higher education 


The PHEC, in collaboration with American Institute of Pakistan Studies (AIPS), Islamabad and University of Education, Lahore under the PHEC Faculty Development Programme organised the Teaching Excellence Workshop. Vice chancellors, deans from the public sector universities of Punjab participated in the first day of the training workshop.

Center for Teaching Excellence, University of North Carolina, Wilmington, USA Executive Director Dr Caroline Clements delivered a comprehensive lecture on the need of centre for teaching excellence.
