‘Hospitals not being privatised in South Punjab’

Minister says budget for health dept will be increased

Hospitals are not being privatised in South Punjab while the Punjab government was utilising all possible resources to extend best medical facilities to the masses.

This was said by Provincial Minister for Specialized Health and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique during a visit to the Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases. Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir and Health Secretary Najam Shah also accompanied the minister.

He said that practical steps were being taken to ensure basic health facilities for the people.


The minister said that Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases was a gift by CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif for the people of South Punjab. He said the budget of all departments related to health was being increased and grants of different hospitals were also being released.

While speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir said that kidney centre in South Punjab was a state-of-the-art health facility which was facilitating people of Multan and suburban areas.

He said that more hospitals would be constructed for public in the future. Meanwhile, Secretary Health Najam Shah said that doctors, and paramedical staff would not be allowed to play with the lives of people.
