LAHORE: It can be challenging for any new designer on the block to create his exclusive label and become accepted amongst the legendary designers who have now become veterans of the Pakistani fashion industry - but Mohsin Naveed Ranjha has emerged as an enormously talented designer who is effortlessly blending respect for age-old traditional craft with forward-thinking aesthetics.

The world of fashion always fascinated Mohsin from a very young age; he had this constant urge to keep himself updated with the latest fashion trends from around the fashion world.

In his short span in the industry, Mohsin has already showcased his collection Nash-e-Zareen at BCW where Humaima Malick was the show stopper.

Later, in the same year he participated at QHBCW 2016 and presented his collection 'Chaap Tilak' and Mawra Hocane was his show stopper.

“This world fascinated me and I was always eager to know more," said Mohsin. "It is one of the things I feel most connected to. It was this passion which then drove me to study fashion design and textiles and pursue it as a career. I come from a textile background with my family being involved in the textile sector."

"I, however, chose to take a different direction and went into the fashion industry because I was passionate about it. All my formal education has been in a fashion school and rather than just learning through experience, I have had the theoretical and practical knowledge about fashion as I was formally trained in it," Mohsin further said.

Talking about how the industry has taken him in as an outsider who is trying to break into the main stream fashion industry, Mohsin said, “I must admit, it wasn’t easy to start with as you have to prove yourself to the industry but it was this competitive nature of the Pakistani fashion industry that motivated me to excel in it."

FPW 2017 Day 2: The good, the great and the okayish

"It made me work harder and I had to keep improving my work in order to make a mark. By the grace of Allah, this hard work paid off and has earned me respectable recognition. We also  believe in catering to a wide variety of clients and creating something that matches every client’s taste and needs," asserted Mohsin.

"Building our philosophy on this notion, we focus on the diversity in our craft. At MNR you will see no repetition. There is a huge variation, from classic to contemporary, from intricate to heavy embellishments, you will find it all. We use a wide colour palette from pastels to vibrant, playing with different tints to get the best designs."

Mohsin opened his studio doors for the public this summer. His boutique is a vision of his aesthetics and creativity.
