The seminar was attended by government officials, industry professionals, the management of Szabist, faculty and students. Nasreen Haque, vice-president of administration at Szabist, conveyed the message of Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, the institution’s chancellor, and states that there was a need to collaborate with The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and board of investment to train students to capitalise on opportunities emerging from the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The keynote speaker, Keith Newton, who serves as secretary-general at CILT International, briefed the audience about CILT and the opportunities available to the students for their careers in the area of logistics and transportation.

Bahria Towns’ director of services south, Commodore Muhammad Naim, stressed on developing human resources to benefit from the opportunities arising from CPEC. Malik Muhammad Rehan, a supply chain professional, represented the industry’s perspective to harness skills of students by providing high-quality education. In the end, a vote of thanks was given by Dr Altaf Mukati, vice-president of academics at Szabist, expressing gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions.
