WASA told to ensure water supply to impoverished parts of Rawalpindi

The orders were issued by Punjab Minister for Healthcare and Medical Education and Adviser to Punjab CM on Dengue

RAWALPINDI: With people being advised not to store water in wake of the dengue virus outbreak, officials have asked the water and sewerage agency (WASA) to ensure regular supply of water to impoverished parts of Rawalpindi. The orders were issued by Punjab Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique along with Advisor to Punjab CM on Dengue Programme Dr Waseem visited Kotha Kallan in UC 80 of Dhok Chaudariyan on Monday and inspected dengue surveillance and larva elimination work. The minister directed WASA to ensure regular water supply in the area so that residents do not have to store water in uncovered containers and drums. He said that owing to the dengue threat, stagnant water must be removed from all vulnerable points.
