One killed, two injured in Swat blast

Remote-controlled bomb goes off in Malam Jabba

SWAT: At least one person was killed and two members of the Village Defence Council (VDC) critically injured when a remote-controlled bomb detonated in Swat's Malam Jabba area on Monday.

Myasher, father of VDC head Ahmadzeb was killed on the spot while his other son received injuries as a remote-controlled bomb exploded in Sar Teligram area, DPO Muhammad Ejaz told The Express Tribune. Ahmadzeb himself was not present at the location.

Another person injured in the incident has been identified as Mehran.

Police cordoned the area and began an investigation into the incident.
