Week-on-week: SPI rises 0.78%
Average prices of 13 items rose in a selected basket of goods
ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended September 27, 2017 registered an increase of 0.78% for the combined income group, going up from 223.47 points in the previous week to 225.21in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of previous year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 2.92%. The SPI for the lowest income group increased 0.88% compared to the previous week. The index for the group stood at 216.39points against 214.51in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. During the week, average prices of 13 items rose in a selected basket of goods, prices of 10 items fell and rates of remaining 30 goods recorded no change.
