He issued these remarks while addressing NAB officers during his farewell visit to the bureau’s Lahore office. Lahore NAB Director General Major Shahzad Saleem, in his welcome address, said the organisation has perfected its procedures after taking various initiatives under Chaudhry’s leadership and guidance.
“In line with your various initiatives, it was decided the performance of NAB headquarters and all regional bureaus will be evaluated on the basis of Quantified Grading System from 2014.”
The Lahore DG stated that every year, NAB headquarters and all regional bureaus were being evaluated on a certain criteria. He continued that Lahore being graded the number one region of NAB in 2016 was a reflection of the excellent performance and hard work.
He stated that the provincial bureau was actively perusing the elimination of corruption and related practices through a holistic approach of awareness, prevention and enforcement of a zero-tolerance policy across the board.
Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, in his address, reiterated NAB Lahore had been performing well and putting its best efforts to becoming the number one region He said Lahore had been actively perusing the cause of eradication of corruption and nabbing corrupt individuals. He said the last four years showed the professionalism, transparency, hard work, honesty, commitment, dedication and merit which NAB officers had maintained. “NAB has been rejuvenated; strengthened and was working with the realisation that eradication of corruption was a national duty. He pointed out that PILDAT, Transparency International and World Economic Forum appreciated NAB’s efforts.

“NAB, during my tenure recovered, Rs50 billion from corrupt elements and deposited the same in the national exchequer. This is a record achievement as no other anti-corruption agency in Pakistan has recovered such a huge amount in the short span of four years.
He said that the figures of complaints, inquiries and investigations are almost double as compared to the same period of 2014 to 2017. He said that since its inception, NAB has recovered Rs290 billion which is indicative of hard work, dedication, professionalism and transparency of all ranks of NAB officers/officials.
He said that today, NAB is the chairman of the SAARC Anti-Corruption Forum. “NAB is the only organization in the world with whom China has signed an MoU in order to streamline cooperation in the field of anti-corruption and oversee projects to be undertaken under CEPC. He said that NAB has established its first forensic science lab (FSL) in Islamabad which has facilities of digital forensics, questioned documents and fingerprint analysis.
He said the bureau has rationalised its workload and timelines have been prescribed for efficient, effective and expeditious disposal of cases, putting a maximum time limit of 10 months from complaint verification to inquiry to investigation and finally to a reference in an accountability court.
