Postings: K-P govt goes through major reshuffle

37 high-ranking officials transferred after K-P chief secretary takes over

PESHAWAR: During a major reshuffle in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government, 37 high-ranking officials including administrative secretaries have been transferred and posted. The move came after newly posted K-P Chief Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan took charge of the office.

The K-P establishment department issued a notification on Wednesday, under which Elementary and Secondary Education Secretary Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash (PAS BS-2) has been transferred and posted as additional chief secretary (ACS). The ACS post was vacant after Azam was appointed as the chief secretary.



Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Secretary Farah Hamid Khan (PAS BS-21), Administration Department Secretary Hassan Mehmood Yousafzai (BS-20), Establishment Department Secretary Dr Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah (PCS SG BS-20), Prisons Inspector General Aziz Khan Khattak (BS-20) and Social Welfare Department Director Muhammad Naeem (associate professor BS-19) were made officers on special duty (OSD) and directed to report to the establishment department.

Provincial Inspection Team Chairperson Muhammad Fahim Wazir (BS-21) was transferred and posted as the industries, commerce and technical education.

Zakat, Usher, Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Secretary Farakh Sair (PCS EG BS-21) was transferred and posted as the provincial inspection team chairperson while Establishment Special Secretary Fareeha Paul (BS-20) replaced Farakh Sair.

K-P Procurement Regulatory Authority Managing Director Kamran Reman Khan (PAS BS-20) was transferred as the provincial ombudsman director general.

Food Secretary Asmatullah Khan (BS-20) was transferred and posted as the higher education regulatory authority chairperson. Similarly, Provincial Emergency Operation Centre for Polio Eradication Coordinator Muhammad Akbar Khan (BS-20) was transferred and posted as the food department secretary.

Establishment Department Regulation Special Secretary Masood Ahmad (BS-20) was transferred and posted as the chairperson of the K-P textbook board while Asghar Ali Shah (BS-20) who was chairing the K-P textbook board was posted as the parliamentary affairs and human rights department law secretary.

Law Department Additional Secretary Mukhtiar Ahmad was transferred and posted as the director of the staff training institute.

Public Relations and Culture Department Information Secretary Arshad Majeed was transferred as the administration secretary at his existing pay scale. He was also directed to hold additional charge as the secretary of the Establishment Department.

Elementary and Secondary Education Department Special Secretary Qaiser Alam (BS-19 Protocol Service) was posted as the public relations and culture department information secretary at his existing pay scale.



Higher Education Special Secretary Abdul Ghafoor Baig was transferred and posted as the Dera Ismail Khan commissioner against a vacant post while Staff Training Institute Director Ajmal Khan (PCS ED BS-20) was asked to report to the establishment department.

Chief Minister Principle Secretary Mohammad Israr was posted as the agriculture department’s secretary while Home and Tribal Affairs Department Additional Secretary Shahidullah was transferred and posted as prisons inspector general.

Food Safety Authority Director General Atta-Ur-Rehman (PMS BS-19) was posted as the additional secretary for the Excise and Taxation Department, while, Administration Department Additional Secretary Riaz Mehsud (PCS EG BS-19) has been posted the director general of the food safety authority.

Excise and Taxation Department Additional Secretary Muhammad Nadir Khan Rana (PMS BS-19) was transferred and posted as the additional secretary at the health department while Health Additional Secretary Suhail Khan (PAS BS-18) was posted as the E&SE department additional secretary.

Education Sector Reform Unit Director Sharif Hussain (PMS BS-19) was transferred and posted as the director of K-P transport while Syed Tanzeeela Sabahat (PMS BS-19) was posted as the special secretary at the establishment department at her existing pay scale.
