World Bank explores housing finance 

Meeting was convened to discuss overall growth of housing finance market in Pakistan

KARACHI: The World Bank and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) are formulating a strategies boost the housing finance sector in the country, an NBP statement said on Wednesday.

A World Bank delegation called on the NBP President and CEO Saeed Ahmad consisting of specialists in the housing finance field. The delegation also included representatives of Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company (PMRC).

Pakistan may soon be ineligible for World Bank loans

The statement said that the meeting was convened to discuss the overall growth of housing finance market in Pakistan, its issues, challenges and possible solutions.

The World Bank team apprised that in coordination with key stakeholders they were proposing to assist Pakistan in developing this market and are preparing a housing finance project.
