ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has finally decided to take stern action against 16 of its retired officers and non-gazetted officials who have failed to vacate their government-provided accommodations despite the expiry of grace period after their retirement.

The CDA Administration Directorate on Tuesday issued two directives for lodging FIRs and blocking the pensions of these former officials – most of which are low-grade employees in CDA.

The authority’s board had recently approved new merit and transparency-based housing policy for allotment of official accommodation to CDA Employees.

“The present administration will ensure implementation of recently approved the housing policy in the best interest of the employees of the authority,” CDA Member Administration Yasir Pirzada said.
