Chinese envoy calls on COAS, appreciates army's contributions for regional peace

Ambassador Sun Weidong visits Gen Qamar at the end of the former's tenure in Pakistan

Chinese ambassador Sun Weidong met army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday and appreciated army's contributions for peace and stability in the region.

Weidong met the COAS to bid farewell at the end of his tenure in Pakistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

Matters of mutual interest including regional security issues were discussed during the meeting, the statement added.

Gen Qamar warns people badmouthing Pakistan, its army

The visiting dignitary pledged to keep working for better relations between the two friendly countries.

Gen Qamar thanked the ambassador for his contributions, saying Pakistan will continue to strive towards a more interconnected and interdependent region as against a security-centric paradigm.
