
The penalties were handed out as the authority finalised seven Inquiries against 13 officials of CDA in the past month. Inquiries had been initiated against 13 officers and officials of the authority. Of these, three officials were exonerated, two were handed major penalties while minor penalties were handed out to four employees. Cases of four employees are still under process.
Riaz Khan, a basic pay scale (BPS)-17assistant director of the E&DM department was demoted to a lower post of inspector in BPS-16.
Javed Masih, an operating officer in the Chief Complaint Office was also downgraded to the lower post of sub-assistant in BPS-14.

The two officers had been subject to disciplinary proceedings for their misconduct by attending a union protest whilst being officers of the authority.
Ashraf Mughal, an admin officer and Qalib Ali, a dealing assistant (now in Admin Office) were exonerated of being involved in bogus plots in the name of affectees. Cases against other suspects, however, are still under process.
Muhammad Shafiq, a surveyor EM-I, was exonerated of charges allotting, transferring plot 328 in Chak Shahzad.
CDA Structure Deputy Director Muhammad Naeem, who was facing disciplinary action for keeping a personal file in his own custody, he has been handed a minor penalty.
In an inquiry into the dismal state of Parliament Lodges, CDA PL&H Deputy Director Ijazul Hassan’s increments for five years were withheld. Moreover, his promotion has been withheld for a year as well for disobeying orders of the Supreme Court.
A further minor penalty was imposed on Hassan in an inquiry about the purchase of Rennai Heaters for the Parliament Lodges.
