This incident proves that there is something sinister going on in the province

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has declared a health emergency due to an epidemic of mosquito-borne diseases, especially dengue. The outbreak of the disease has left people worried, as the number of patients is making it increasingly difficult for hospitals to admit and treat them. Despite this some people are trying to make things worse.

Recently, a family was caught with a bag containing mosquitoes suspected to be carriers of a lethal disease, in the Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar. According to news reports, the family was asked to free the mosquitoes in the hospital in return for money. It is beyond comprehension as to who and why would anyone think of doing something like this and putting people’s lives at risk?

This incident proves that there is something sinister going on in the province, which needs to be needs to be tackled without delay. After questioning the family, the guard of the complex let them go with just a warning. But the family should have been arrested and questioned until any names were provided. They should be brought in again and thoroughly questioned.
