PU exempts differently-abled students

Varsity’s exams department also issues schedule for BCom Part-I and II form submissions

LAHORE: Punjab University announced on Tuesday that differently-abled students, aspiring to get admission, would be exempted from depositing fees including tuition, admission, registration and all other dues.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Dr Nasar said differently-abled students were a special part of society and there was a need to pay special attention towards them.

Meanwhile, Punjab University Examinations Department issued the schedule for submission of admission fee and forms for BCom Part-I and II second annual examinations 2017. The last date for submission of admission forms for the said exams is October 5, while the date of commencement will be announced later.

Meanwhile, PU defeated HEC in a friendly football match to pay tribute to the latter’s role in promoting of sports at higher education institutions. The friendly match was organised at Punjab University Football ground to celebrate 15 years of the establishment of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Punjab University took the lead in the 34th minute when their striker Moazzam Ali converted a well-placed cross from their right full back Amir Gondal. The score remained the same till the half time whistle. In the second half, the HEC played fast and made quick touches and attacked the opponents from different positions which later helped them in scoring in the 49th minute.

The score remained 1-1 at full time and no further goals were scored in extra time. The match was then decided on a penalty shootout. PU team goalkeeper Hamza saved the sixth HEC penalty and played a vital role in his team's success.

Punjab University's Sports Director Dr M Zafar Iqbal Butt was the chief guest and he awarded the winner and runner-up trophies to the respective captains.
