FAISALABAD: A man killed his daughter and injured his wife, son over a domestic dispute in the precincts of Sitiana police station on Tuesday.

Police said that Abdur Razzaq, a resident of Akbar Basti, exchanged hot words with his 38-year-old wife Nazia, son Hamza, 16, and nine-year-old daughter Noor Fatima over a domestic dispute. During the argument, the accused got enraged and attacked his wife and children with a sharp weapon when they were asleep in their house.

As a result, Noor Fatima was killed on the spot, while Nazia and Hamza suffered injuries and were shifted to a hospital in critical condition. The police arrested the accused and put him behind bars. Further investigation was underway. Meanwhile, a man was electrocuted to death in Jaranwala City police station precincts.

Police said Bilal, a resident of Alvi Park, was on his way home after offering prayers in a nearby mosque when he accidentally touched an electricity pole. As a result, he received an electric shock and died on the spot.



After the incident, locals protested against Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company authorities and said that complaints of short-circuiting from the electricity pole were lodged a number of times at local sub-divisional office but none paid heed to the issue.

They demanded action against the officials concerned as a precious life was lost due to the negligence of the FESCO officials.

Ghulam Muhammad Abad police claimed to have arrested five robbers from a graveyard. A police team conducted a raid at Baba Qaim Saien Graveyard and arrested accused Shahbaz alias Neela, Sarmad, Shahbaz alias Haider, Umar Daraz and Abid.

The police also seized five pistols from their possession and registered a case against them. The district police apprehended 58 proclaimed offenders and 12 court absconders involved in heinous crimes.

A police official said police teams raided different areas of the district and nabbed 58 proclaimed offenders, including 18 of category A and 40 of category B.

Besides, 12 court absconders were also rounded up during the raids, while three drug pushers Muhammad Naeem, Kashif and Shahid Ghaffar were arrested.  The police seized 3.8 kilogrammes of hashish, 30 liters of liquor from them.
