Nadeem Razi claims former party is not ‘telling the truth’

KARACHI: Another Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmaker joined the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) on Monday, levelling allegations against his former colleagues and claimed that they were deceiving the public and their workers into believing their August 23 stance.

Nadeem Razi, a member of the provincial assembly from PS-121, announced his joining of the PSP at a press conference held at party headquarters Pakistan House. He was flanked by PSP Chairperson Mustafa Kamal, president Anis Kaimkhani, general secretary Raza Haroon and other leaders.

Razi said that MQM-Pakistan leaders were not telling the truth. After the August 22 incidents, the elected representatives were asked to get along by the Farooq Sattar-led group on the pretext of serving the public, he said, but later a contradiction emerged in what they said and what they did.

“MQM belongs to Altaf Hussain,” he remarked in an apparent reference that though MQM-Pakistan claimed to be a party independent of its founder, it still was tied to him.



Meanwhile, Kamal said that his doors were always open to the people who wanted to start a new life, leaving everything behind. “PSP is growing rapidly and has gained a strength that is more than that of a 35-year-old political organisations,” he boasted.

Commenting on the politics at the Centre, Kamal said the country was experiencing political turmoil and the government had invested all its efforts in proving state institutions wrong about their decision on the Panama Leaks scandal.
