ISLAMABAD: Possibly overwhelmed, ahead of her party’s NA-120 victory, Maryam Nawaz seems to openly challenge the top institutions of the country that are an integral part of upholding democracy and its smooth working. The disqualified PM’s daughter, who herself was held accountable in the Panama case recently stated that, “Her father will not appear before the accountability court, come what may.”
She needs to understand the fact that keeping up with the dignity of the political institutions and staying accountable and responsible for one’s actions is the very crux of democracy. The Panamagate already seems to have created major political setbacks for her party; holding onto her unjustified stance is only going to worsen the situation.
