Governor’s Visit: LUMHS to have own hospital

Liaquat University Hospital to be handed over to LUMHS: Dr Ishratul Ebad.

HYDERABAD: Liaquat University Hospital, Jamshoro, which operates under the administrative control of the Jamshoro district government, will be handed over to the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Science (Lumhs), said Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan on Saturday, when he inaugurated a two-day dental symposium.

“It is time the university had its own hospital because lack of infrastructure and modern facilities make it extremely difficult for us to train our young doctors,” said LUMHS vice chancellor Prof Dr Naushad A Shaikh. The cardiac department will also be upgraded to a teaching institute, Khan said.
