Four girls drown in Turbat stream

The girls were between the ages of six and 10

QUETTA: Four girls drowned in a seasonal stream in Hoshab area of Kech district of Balochistan on Saturday.

The girls, who were between the ages of six and 10 of a village near Hoshab, were swimming in Katek stream. According to sources, they died after entering deep waters.

“Four girls died while making efforts to save each other, while the fifth one was rescued," a levies official said.

Levies officials reached the incident site and recovered the bodies, which were later handed over the heirs after medico-legal formalities at a nearby hospital.

While three girls were identified as Gul Afroz, Durnaz and Kargaz, identity of the fourth girl is yet to be learnt.
