Gen Nadeem named new DG military operations

As part of a major reshuffle, Kayani assigned five Lt Generals and one Major General to new assignments.

Major General Ishfaq Nadeem has been appointed Director-General Military Operations – a key office of the Pakistan Army that looks after all the operations of military. As part of a major reshuffle and promotions exercise, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Friday assigned five Lt Generals and one Major General to new assignments, military sources said.


In his previous assignment, Major General Ishfaq Nadeem had successfully conducted the military operation in Swat. Lt Gen Javed Iqbal has been appointed as the Adjutant General in GHQ, while Lt General Muhammad Asif has been appointed as DG Joint Services headquarters.

Lt Gen Abid Pervez will retain his post as DG Logistics. Lt Gen Ahsen Mehmood has been assigned the post of Engineer-in-Chief of Pakistan Army while, Lt General Sardar Mehmood Ali has been made deputy chairman ERRA.
