ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary Committee on National Security decided to take unanimous decisions regarding Pak-US relations.
The committee has also decided to take all stakeholders in confidence before coming to a consensus on national policy in the wake of US’s policy on Afghanistan.
The meeting of the committee was held on Tuesday with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq as the chair and attended by members of parliamentary parties.
The members also agreed that Pakistan should put its own House in order. The members sought details of the visits of Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif to different countries of the region.
While briefing the media Sadiq said that the next action plan after announcement of Donald Trump’s policy on Pakistan and its region was discussed during the meeting.
A few members suggested adopting an aggressive policy on the matter while some members asked to resolve the issue through negotiations, Sadiq said.
“The message has been conveyed by Pakistan on Trump’s statement by passing a resolution against it from the Parliament, “Sadiq said, adding that the US has now realised that Trump issued the statement in haste.
In the next meeting of the committee, agendas pertaining to the National Action Plan and banned outfits will be taken up.
