Various programmes, including a Quran khawani, were held on the death anniversary and people offered prayers for Jinnah and laid floral wreaths at his mausoleum. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Governor Mohammad Zubair, Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Sindh cabinet members visited Mazar-e-Quaid and paid tribute to the founder of the nation.

Shah, while talking to the media, said, "It is high time to pursue and carry forward the mission of the founder of the nation." He added that they have to implement what Jinnah had envisaged. He was of the view that Pakistan can only be prosperous if the successive governments follow in Jinnah's footsteps.
Zubair called it an important day and said, "Pakistan will accomplish the dreams of the Quaid and the best way to pay tribute to him is to adhere to the principles of unity, faith and discipline". He added that Pakistan can only be prosperous if we follow Jinnah's mission and vision.
