Travel : Administrator approves 100% increase in toll tax

Fee structure was not revised since 2004.

KARACHI:

The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has increased the road service maintenance fee on the road linking the Super Highway and the National Highway.

Administrator Lala Fazlur Rehman gave the approval on Friday and people will have to pay the new fee from the next fiscal year 2011-12.

In a draft resolution, CDGK local taxes department executive director Muhammad Rehan Khan submitted a notification issued on February 14, 2005, which allowed his department to collect maintenance fee on this road.

Since then, the fee structure had remained unchanged.
