HYDERABAD: After a departmental inquiry proved two policemen guilty in the case of allegedly assaulting a journalist in Tharparkar district, Tharparkar SSP Ameer Saud Magsi dismissed them on Thursday.

Kaloi police station SHO Sadiq Dars and head constable Wahid Rajar were also suspended. The police will also register an FIR.

Two police officials found involved in attack on journalist

The journalist, Irfan Khoso, and his family appear partially satisfied with the police action, claiming that a local influential person affiliated with the Pakistan Peoples Party has not been officially implicated. "I have not gotten justice yet. There are more persons involved in the attack on me," Khoso said while talking to the local media.

On September 1, Khoso was forcefully put in a vehicle and taken to the wilderness in Kaloi where he was beaten up, abused and left in an injured condition. He claimed that the attack was a punishment and threat to stop reporting on drug peddling.
