ISLAMABAD:
The country has achieved the highest-ever power generation of 20,000 megawatts and 4,000MW more would be added to the system in the next three to four months, said Minister of State for Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali on Thursday. Talking to journalists, after a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Energy, he said, “On Wednesday, there was more electricity than demand.” The minister expressed confidence that power load-shedding would end by November this year across the country, except for the areas where line losses were high. Answering a question, Ali said industries and power looms were getting smooth supply of electricity with zero load-shedding.
