Instagram users will soon be able to share Stories on Facebook

Facebook is now relying on Instagram to make Stories popular on its main app

Stories, which copies a popular Snapchat feature, has helped increase the amount of time people spend on the app.

Let’s admit it; Facebook really wants people to view Stories on its main app. After introducing the Stories feature on Instagram, the social media giant tried to push it on its Facebook app.

While Stories, which copies a popular Snapchat feature, has helped increase the amount of time people spend on the app, the feature did not farewell on Facebook.

Now you can go live with a friend on Instagram

In an attempt to make Stories popular on Facebook, the social media network is now relying on Instagram to see if it can help get the feature to finally stick. Facebook-owned photo-sharing app now allows people to share their Story directly to Facebook.

The latest feature, which is still under its testing phase, gives Instagram users the option to share photos and videos created with Instagram's in-app camera to their Facebook Story, as well as their Instagram Story. It is still not clear if or when Instagram plans to launch the feature officially.

Thousands across world report Facebook and Instagram outage

An Instagram spokesperson confirmed the test to Mashable but refused to further comment on the development.

"We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you. We have no other plans to share at this time."
