JUI-F to stage countrywide protests for Rohingya Muslims from Sept 8
Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Federal Minister for Housing Akram Khan Durrani announced the protest plans
PESHAWAR:
The Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has announced a countrywide, week-long protest from September 8 over the atrocities committed against the unarmed Muslims in Myanmar.
JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Federal Minister for Housing Akram Khan Durrani announced their protest plans while addressing a joint news conference while visiting Bannu on Wednesday.
They stated that the rulers of Myanmar were actively cleansing Muslims per a plot. Moreover, they denounced statements from the US President Donald Trump.
Referring to the assertions made by Trump while announcing a new policy for Afghanistan last month, they rejected the idea that there were terrorist safe havens in the Fata or in settled districts while terming the US demands for action as unrealistic.
Separately, a similar press conference was arranged at the JUI-F provincial secretariat where the murder of Rohingya Muslims by Myanmar’s security forces was denounced.
