HYDERABAD: The chief minister condemned the killings of Muslims in Myanmar and asked the federal government to establish a clear stance on the issue and to try to find a solution to the crisis, along with other Muslim countries.

This he stated during a media talk in Jamshoro district on Monday.
Commenting on the Anti-Terrorism Court's verdict in Benazir Bhutto's assassination case, the chief minister said that the former prime minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairperson's own statement is on the record.

"Shaheed Benazir Bhutto's statement is there that if anything happened to her then [former president] Pervez Musharraf should be held responsible."

He deplored that the court acquitted five terrorists while convicting only two police officers. He contended that even these two officers would have received directives from someone in authority for the acts for which they have been held culpable.

Shah welcomed the national accountability court's verdict which exculpated PPP leader Asif Zardari from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references.

"These cases were fake and destined to end." He said Zardari had spent 10 years in prison on these charges. But, Shah added, despite the torment of imprisonment, Zardari has forgiven the people who prepared false NAB references against him.
