One accused of stealing four goats, another two of kidnapping a German Shepherd

LAHORE: A judicial magistrate has handed over a suspect to the Sundar police on a four-day physical remand for allegedly stealing sacrificial animals.

Police officials produced Iftikhar before a magisterial court where the investigation officer (IO) of the case said the suspect is being investigated and they have yet to recover the stolen goats. The IO sought a ten days remand of the suspect on the grounds of hoping to only recover the animas, but also to establish of other criminals had been working with the accused.

The counsel for the accused told the court that Iftikhar is an innocent person who is being implicated in a false to humiliate and blackmail. He argued that his client had no connection with any criminal activities, but the police officials were merely trying to show their efficiency by registering an FIR.

At the same time, the IO said complainant Muhammad Intizar lodged the FIR against the accused and alleged that the latter stole four of his goats which he bought for sacrifice on Eidul Azha.

Meanwhile, the counsel for the accused stated that police were yet to recover any animals from the possession of Iftikhar. He added that FIR was registered and allegations leveled to steal four goats. He said the complainant, in connivance with police officials, got the FIR registered.

The judge, after hearing detailed arguments, handed over the accused to the Sundar police for four days on physical remand. Meanwhile, the judge also sent two suspects on a 14-day judicial remand for allegedly stealing a German shepherd dog. He also directed the police to submit their challan within 15 days.

Financial incentives for cattle farmers

Akbari Gate police produced Muhammad Aleem and Muhammad Asim before magisterial court where the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case said the suspect were arrested based on the complainant of Arsalan Farooq who got an FIR registered against them.

He contended police have recovered the stolen dog and there is no need to further investigate the matter. Regardless, the judge still sent the suspect to jail on judicial remand.
