People throng picnic spots to enjoy Eid

Bahawalpur Zoo entertained 26,532 people during the first two days

BAHAWALPUR/ MULTAN: People, including women and children, thronged parks and other recreational spots in Multan on the second and third day of Eidul Azha.

After performing religious obligation of sacrificing animals, families and youngsters were seen enjoying at public parks and picnic spots. On Saturday, Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs and other places in the city. The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the well-being of Muslim Ummah and security of the country.

Strict security arrangements were in place across the city to avoid any untoward incident. The district administration had made special arrangements for disposal of offal and other solid waste during three days of Eid.

Similarly, Bahawalpur Zoo entertained 26,532 people during the first two days of Eidul Azha. The administration provided best security arrangements and curator Bahawalpur Zoo, Chaudhry Muhammad Ayub Sabir, remained on his duty on both days.

At the entrance of the zoo, a walkthrough gate and CCTV cameras were installed. The curator also deployed some uniformed officials from the wildlife department who remained on high alert from entrance gate to all parts of the zoo to deal with any untoward incident.

Bahawalpur Zoo Curator Chaudhry Muhammad Ayub Sabir said entry tickets for the zoo were sold at Rs6 for adults and Rs4 for children and no reports of overcharging were received. “The zoo is our asset and keeping it clean is our responsibility,” he said. People were told to cooperate with the zoo administration and in case of any difficulty contact the curator's office.
