The film, which has been produced by Anand Kumar, also features the late Om Puri, actress Divya Dutta, who is playing Malala’s mother, and Ragini Khanna.

Sheikh has previously worked in TV serials ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and ‘Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha’. She also starred in the Amitabh Bachchan-Farhan Akhtar-starrer ‘Wazir’.
Some parts of the film have already been shot in Bhuj and Mumbai in 2016, while remaining shooting will resume this month, according to Indian media.
Sheikh has been training hard to perfect her diction and mannerisms to accurately portray the young activist.
