Rain Warning: Don’t tie cattle to power poles

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company advised the people ahead of an expected rain spell

ISLAMABAD: Don’t tie sacrificial animals to electric poles and stay at least 100 feet away from high tension wires, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company advised the peole ahead of an expected rain spell. The company asked the people to adopt precautionary measures in expected rains as a little carelessness or negligence can lead to fatal accident. The spokesman for the company advised the general public to get defective wirings fixed, use three-pin plug along with proper earth-cable while using iron, washing machine, refrigerators. Moreover, he told people to wear rubber sole shoes and stand on wooden plank while repairing wirings. He said some people are so carless that they dry their laundry on electric wires, “please don’t do this. Use rope while drying clothes instead of electrical wires and do not use water pipe for supporting electric wires.” He advised parents to teach children not to go near electricity installations while playing.
