Fatal consequences: Three killed in rain incidents
According to hospital rescue forces, four people died in rain related incidents. With no electricity in most areas of the city, residents of Landhi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Malir, Quaidabad, Federal B Area, Kemari and Lyari complained about the difficulties being faced due to the rain and lack of electricity which has persisted for hours.
The officials in Pakistan's Meteorological Department (MET) office in Karachi said North Karachi received the most rain measuring up to approximately 100 mm, and Nazimabad received about 70 mm rain. "The Weather system, which developed in Gujarat of India, has now entered Badin via Tharparkar, and is likely to reach Karachi by 4pm today with chances of heavy rain," Director Met Abdul Rashid told The Express Tribune. "Currently the citizens of Karachi are receiving moderate rain and it will turn into heavy downpour by 4pm."

The situation in the cattle market situated off Super Highway is also unfortunate. The inundated rain water and mud that stormed the market has caused grave problems for animal traders and purchasers.
With Eid approaching, the cattle markets have suffered in abundance due to the rain. “Many tents have been uprooted. There are no arrangements to drain out rain water. We can’t sit in the mud and my cows have stopped eating," said one of the vendors.
