LAHORE: We should not make a super power our enemy, however ties between America and Pakistan should be based on mutual respect and dignity, said the Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He was addressing a ceremony organised to distribute cheques amongst families of martyrs of Ferozpur road blast on Tuesday.

“Pakistan is a developing country and we should take our strength in account before making any decision. It is very important for us to understand our priority which is to root-out terrorism from Pakistan,” he said.

The chief minister said that any country which desired to support Pakistan should be welcomed because it was a global issue. He added that it was the need of the hour to put aside our differences and unite against the menace of terrorism.

Shehbaz said that despite everything, the census should not be made controversial in any manner. People in all four provinces were like brothers, who should sit down together to address their concerns, he added.
