ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Water and Power on Thursday presented a new energy saving plan for the next six months.

The ministry says the new plan, which was presented in the national assembly, will help save 100 megawatts of electricity.

Commercial markets will close at 8pm and the days off for industries are also expected to change.

The number of lights at the residences of government officials, including the Presidency and Prime Minister house, will be reduced by 50 per cent. Lights for decorative purposes are to be removed and the thermostats of air conditioners will be fixed at 26 degrees centigrade.
