Missing anti-terrorism narrative

Letter August 28, 2017
The terrorism we face today in our country has led to an increasing financial and human cost over the years

ISLAMABAD: This is in response to Mawish Moulvi’s article titled ‘Absence of an anti-terrorism narrative’ published on August 24th. The terrorism that we face today in our country has led to an increasing financial and human cost over the years. We have a whole generation which has been traumatised and gravely affected by this menace, and another which is also growing up amongst its presence.

No matter how many operations we launch or national action plans we devise, just as Ms Moulvi argues we won’t be able to make much of a difference unless we have a powerful anti-terrorism narrative “that champions peace, respect and humanity, thereby deconstructing such discourses, engaging young men or women through print or social media.”
