CCP issues notices to six companies

CCP received complaints stating juice manufacturing companies were deceiving consumers

MULTAN: The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) issued show-cause notices to six juice manufacturing companies for running deceptive marketing campaign for their products.

The notices were issued over violation of rules of the Competition Act 2010. Officials said that CCP received formal complaints in which it was stated that some juice manufacturing companies were deceiving consumers by making unjustifiable claims that their products were 100% pure and natural.

CCP fines three milk manufacturing companies

The CCP conducted an enquiry into the matter which concluded that the claims by the companies were misleading to the consumers. According to the enquiry report, such deceptive marketing practices by the company not only deceived consumers but were also capable of harming the business interest of the complainants and other competitors.
