Rangers present MQM-London worker 'who was believed to be dead'

Party had claimed the worker was killed in custody and his mutilated body was found

KARACHI: Sindh Rangers presented on Thursday before the media a Muttahida Qaumi Movement - London (MQM-London) worker, Muhammad Yusuf, who according to his party, was found dead on the outskirts of the city earlier this month.

"The party leaders asked Yusuf to disappear and later started a propaganda against the security forces that he was killed after being picked up," Rangers spokesperson Major Qambar Raza said in a press conference at the paramilitary force's headquarters.



On August 7, the MQM-London had issued a statement that Yusuf, who worked at its Qasba Aligarh sector, was killed extra judicially as his mutilated body was found in Hawa Goth. The party claimed that he was picked up by personnel in Rangers uniforms and plainclothes on July 17 in Orangi Town.

Maj Raza said that the pro-Altaf Hussain party was continuing with its false propaganda against the security and law enforcement agencies in the country and this scene was a part of it. "Yusuf is alive and is here. The party did a false propaganda."

 



During the press conference, Yusuf also spoke to the media. He said that he was hiding in the house of his friend in Surjani Town for many days and on August 8 his friend's daughter showed him a press release about his death issued by MQM-London convener Nadeem Nusrat.

"I got scared after reading it and went to Mirpurkhas. There I started missing my children and eventually decided to surrender before the paramilitary force," Yusuf told the media. The Rangers officer commented that it was a policy of the MQM-London to force its workers into disappearance, kill them and then put the blame on others to create a misleading propaganda.
