SSP Junejo attack: ‘Include Imran, Qadri estate details from 3 cities’
During Thursday’s hearing, the court issued the summons for witnesses for August 31. Despite being declared as proclaimed offenders, the PTI chairman and the PAT chief again failed to appear before the court.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) submitted records pertaining to the attack on the then SSP Operations Islamabad Asmatullah Junejo and speeches made by Imran and Qadri during the 2014 sit-ins in the capital.
In February, ATC issued perpetual warrants Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri. The warrants were issued after police submitted a report stating that the suspects could not be arrested despite declaring both accused proclaimed offenders in the case of attack on former SSP Junejo.
Imran, Qadri and several others were booked over their alleged involvement in an attack on the then Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Asmatullah Junejo during the 2014 sit-ins in the capital.
