In the initial stage, the personnel will be deployed at major commercial hubs and old bazaars of the city, City Police Officer (CPO) spokesperson Imran Haider said, adding that the force will be gradually deployed to other parts of the city as well.
He said presently the personnel to be deployed in the city are undergoing training in Lahore and are expected to take charge by mid-September.

The bike-mounted force will be equipped with modern weapons and will have devices able to swiftly verify vehicle registration documents.
Haider said that arrangements are afoot to procure motorcycles and other requisite equipment to make the force fully functional.
A plot measuring eight canals has been identified to establish the offices for the force, he said, adding that funds for its establishment have been reserved.
Initially, the force will be headed by a DSP-level officer, he said, adding that the appointment of the officer would soon be notified.
The Dolphin Force is a venture of the Punjab government in collaboration with the Turkish National Police for the establishment of a modern, well-equipped patrolling force to curb street crime and swiftly responding to the call of duty.
