UMT signs key MoU to create exposure for students

The agreement with Surraya Azim (Waqf) Hospital will enhance learning and research skills

LAHORE: School of Health Sciences at University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Surraya Azim (Waqf) Hospital for future collaboration, training and practical exposure of medical students and faculty to knowledge transformation.

UMT Director General Abid HK Shirwani and member of the Governing Body Surraya Azim Hospital Iftikhar Chaudhry signed the deal and later exchanged necessary files. Speaking on the occasion, UMT Director General Abid HK Shirwani said partnering with Surraya Azim Hospital would result in a great learning opportunity for students of the School of Health Sciences.

He said UMT students would get practical exposure and a sense of professionalism through the internship and a house job at the hospital.



The DG further said that together, UMT and Surraya Azim Hospital would make efforts to bring innovation to medical sciences and make new discoveries in the field. Expressing his views, Zikrullah Mujahid said it was a matter of great pleasure to connect the hospital with UMT, which he said is an inspiring modern institution of higher education. He said Surraya Azim Hospital was working purely on professional grounds and catering to humanity with passion and devotion.

UMT shares details of fake degree detection 

Mujahid voiced hope that UMT would professionally contribute to the hospital in terms of novelty and modernisation as it had revolutionised the education sector.

After affiliation with Surraya Azim Hospital, both the faculty and students of School of Health Sciences (SHS) will avail plenty of opportunities to do health research, improve expertise, add value to the performance of the hospital and get experience working in different specialties and with different kinds of patients.
