ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has once again expressed disappointment over the US State department’s order designating Hizbul Mujahideen as a foreign terrorist organisation.

In his statement on Sunday, the AJK prime minister said, how ironic it is that an oppressor (India) which is continuing its brutality and oppression in Kashmir for the past 70 years is not designated as a terrorist state but the people who raise their voices against the repression and continuous oppression are labelled as terrorist.

US designation of HuM as a terrorist group is not reflection of the values of American society.

Raja Farooq termed the decision a biased and ridiculous one. He said that the organisation is fighting at a local level against Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and that US made this decision to secure its business interests with India.

He issued a similar statement earlier on Friday.

He said that Indian restrictions on the freedom of civil liberties, arrests of Hurriyat leaders, sanctions on religious and social gatherings in occupied Kashmir have exposed the Indian democracy on the international community, termination of section 370 of Indian constitution would be a conspiracy to change the demography of state permanently and to settle non-local residents there.
